Rosie Ward joined Boston Conservatory in 2022 and is an associate professor of theater, specializing in voice, speech, and text.
Ward has coached actors in voice, accents, and text at Prague Shakespeare Festival (Romeo and Juliet, King Lear), American Players Theatre (Midsummer Night's Dream, Ring Round the Moon, Anton Shorts, Measure for Measure, Our Country’s Good, Heartbreak House), Alley Theatre (A Christmas Carol, Born with Teeth, Noir, Vietgone), Wheelock Family Theatre (Matilda, Make Way for Ducklings), and the University of Houston (A Flea in Her Ear, Picnic, Haroun and the Sea of Stories, Henry V).
As an actor, Ward has worked with LORT member theaters and with many Shakespeare festivals, including Utah Shakespeare Festival, Prague Shakespeare Festival, Pioneer Theatre Company, Kentucky Shakespeare, and Ashland New Play Festival. Her favorite roles include Rosalind (As You Like It), Olivia (Twelfth Night), Joanne (Company), and Kate (Taming of the Shrew).
Teaching credits include Boston Conservatory at Berklee, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), Sharjah Performing Arts Academy in the United Arab Emirates, Northampton University in England, University of Houston, and Brigham Young University.
Ward received her MA in voice studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, a MFA in acting from the professional actor training program at the University of Houston, and a BFA in musical theater from Weber State University. Additionally, Ward has trained and worked with leading voice professionals, including Kristin Linklater, Barbra Housman (London), Claire Davidson (London), Jane Boston (Central School), David and Rebecca Carey (Oregon Shakespeare Festival), Jim Johnson (University of Houston), Sara Becker (American Players Theatre), and Jan Gist (The Old Globe, San Diego). Ward is a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA).
